From KennyR:

The Astros called on Blue Jays center fielder Vernon Wells, but the Jays aren't motivated to talk about Wells just yet. The emergence of outfield prospect Adam Lind creates the possibility that the team could obtain a starting pitcher by trading outfielder Alex Rios, if not Wells ...

paraphrasing a quote from Purpura on the radio, they were aggressive with Soriano, they're being aggressive with Lee, but at some point "you have to consider what's best for the long term health of the team."

Is that because they just don't have the parts...or more because we have the parts (young SPs) but can't give them up at this time with only Roy as currently a sure thing in the rotation?  Could this possibly change should Woody be signed...and later in the offseason, Pettitte?

Well, that sucks.  I was really hoping we'd pass on Lee and make a run at him.  Thanks for the info though.
