Bora$$ at it again

He may not be the Father of Lies, but he's closely related:

His free-agent clientele is topped by Zito.

"I'm making sure teams understand that whoever hires Barry likely will have the only active player under the age of 30 who has a chance to win 300 games," says Boras, a former minor league infielder in the Cardinals' organization. "He will be baseball's next great ace."

Barry Zito, through age 28: 102 wins
Roy Oswalt, through age 28: 98 wins
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

Roy's a year older.

Should be noted that it took Zito 45 more starts to get those extra 4 wins.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

I don't think that there are going to be any 300 game winners once we get past Glavine and Randy Johnson.

There are too many injuries and there is too little incentive for even healthy pitchers pitchers to want to pitch into their 40s.
Boom!

Well, in all fairness, and I SURE as hell ain't defending Boras, Roy already said he's going to retire in 5 years.

Even if he doesn't, he probably won't pitch another 13 years.

9 months - Baseball Reference has them both listed as official age of 28 for 2006.

Fair enough.  Johan Santana's a year younger than Zito and has 78 wins.  Anyone want to bet against him winning about 20 next year?

This whole thing is ridiculous on so many levels, but #1 being, whoever he signs with.....it won't be for a 15 year contract.  Who gives a shit if he MIGHT win 300 games over his entire career?

Let's talk about what he might do over the next 5 years.  I don't think anyone could look you straight in the face (except Boras) and tell you Zito will win more games than anyone else over the next 5 years.

Then he is irrelevant and will likely retire next year after a major arm injury.  So Boras has written, so shall it be.

Wiki updates are hit amd miss; mostly miss.  Lee switched to Boras for about a day.  But switched back to his old agent.  Don't know if any papers were signed.  Lucky for him they've cancelled Purgatory.

WTF is with there being no more purgatory?  2nd time I've seen this and my priest has not yet told me.

Don't worry, Purgatory will still be there for us Catholics.

Right.  Purgatory is a very different concept than Limbo, and I'm glad to see the Church taking steps to recognize that salvation comes from God's grace.

Soapbox moment over, back to "bash-a-troll".

And, Limbo just doesn't work in the comment about Carlos Lee and his short waltz with the Debil.  So, ...nevermind.

Ian Bladergroen? The all time baseball name.
