Bullpen?
« on: October 26, 2006, 02:22:12 pm »
I searched for awhile but couldn't find any one page that listed who was under contract for the Astros in concerns to bullpen, and who wasn't.

Taking my best shot from memory, this is our bullpen situation in a nut-shell:

Players under contract for '07 - Wheeler, Lidge, Qualls, Miller, Nieve, Sampson, Wandy

Free Agents - Springer, Borkowski

This correct?  And if so...any word on the club's interest in signing Springer and/or Borkowski?

Also, guess the glarring need is still to add a lefty as well.  No one on the FAgent market catches my eye, but I seem to remember PIT having quite a few quality lefties in the pen.  Wonder if Ensberg could be packaged in a deal for DMarte, etc?

What's wrong with the job Miller did as the lefty?

Nothing...my thought was that two lefties in the pen would be better than one...assuming the other lefty is productive.

Unless that pitching machine in the clubhouse cages is broken, I fail to see how that means anything.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.
