Why couldn't they have done this last year in the World Series (besides the obvious answer of "money")?

Because most of America knows the ALCS is already over and no one was going to watch it anyway.

Turns out that's just not true.  Just the media thought that.

The only reason the ALCS is over is that Detroit is just too damn good.

TradeSports.com shows Detroit in 4 and NY in 6 as the most likely outcome of the playoffs.  The likelihood is not overwhelming but simply the highest price for those contracts.  See the website for how that works..

Detroit is heavily favored to win the World Series too..

Perhaps because there was no other game with which to switch?
