We thought we'd post a sticky of the important Arizona Fall League and Hawaii Winter League websites.

his HWB season ended after just three games due to a stress fracture in his right leg.

Baseball America is recapping both leagues games. However, there are a few problems. They have confused Matt Torbert with Beau Torbert. They have the outfielder from the Astros System playing ss/2b for the Mesa Solar Sox instead of the Twins Prospect. The mistake is make on the recap for the 12th & the 17th.

Thanks for clearing that up ... I saw "Beau Tolbert" (I think it was with an "L" not an "R") at 2B as a HOU prospect and was not a little confused.

Four perfect innings for Matt in today's AFL contest versus Scottsdale.

Also congrats to Hunter Pence, who was 3-4 with a couple of two-baggers and a pair of RBIs. After a slow start, he's now hitting .333. (And today's game came on top of the tres swipes in yesterday's game.)

On more of a bummer note, C Lou Santangelo (though obviously facing pitchers with more experience than he's used to) took the 0fer in the game and is just 2-15 after five games.

For whatever reason, Albers is my favorite guy from the upcoming group of players. But my question is about Troy Patton. He is getting slapped around so far in the AFL and his performance this year was not stellar. Now that Hirsh and Albers are MLbers, I guess Patton is the Stros top pitching prospect. Do you know what impressions he is making on the Astros as he now entering a higher level of competition? Still a future rotation guy or has some liability arisen that has destined him for the bullpen? Thanks in advance for any feedback and thanks also for all the kick ass info you and Jacksonian provide.

He is what, 20 or 21, so him being at AA at 20 or 21 is still very good. He might even crap the ML staff at 22 or 23, which is around when Roy did, right?

his AFL season is over as he's been removed from the Solar Sox roster. Don't know at this stage whether there was an injury involved or if this was simply something planned from the outset.

went 4-5 in Tuesday's game with a pair of 2-run homers. He's hitting .520 (13-25) over his last six games with eight RBIs. On the season, he's batting .367/.415/.612.

I'm not sure why you should be kidding regarding Carlos Lee. I think the the presence of Pence does complicate things for the Astros in their free agent dealings this winter. Signing long-term, expensive corner outfield free agents doesn't make a lot of sense if Pence and Scott will be around. On the other hand, if Pence can play center, and I presume that is a big if, then TP has much more flexibility.

While I was impressed last year, and could be wrong, I don't think Scott is a long term solution to the OF.

And having Lee and Pence would make a nice OF IMO. Although I would rather have Vernon Wells playing CF, than Taveras.... But we don't have Lee or Wells so it is all just a wait and see type thing.

I could see Luke Scott playing the Jeriome "15-game winner" Robertson role in a trade, although that's probably short-changing him some.

"Out here, it's been my number two pitch for me," Patton said. "I always like to establish fastballs, but I've been going to it a lot. Catchers seem to want to call it a lot, so that's always a good thing. I didn't use it as much in Corpus as I did in Salem, but really, that pitch went hand-in-hand with my success."

What do you think about Pence's chances of making the 25 man roster out of Spring Training if he does something similar to what Luke Scott did a couple of years ago?

from Solar Sox roster. We'll try to get some details as to whether it was an injury or simply a planned move, though we'd suspect the latter at this point since they're hadn't been anything earlier to indicate he had suffered or been playing with any sort of ailment.

Received confirmation that it was NOT injury-related.

The lefty made his first AFL start (10th outing overall) in today's game versus Phoenix and was awesome. He retired all nine batters he faced in his 3-inning stint, whiffing eight of those with all but one going down swinging.
