Bucknor is serving a life sentence.  There is no reprieve from stupid.

Just one game for throwing a chair seems light.
"Ground ball right side, they're not gonna be able to turn two OR ARE THEY, THROW, IS IN TIME!!! WHAT AN UNBELIEVABLE TURN BY BRUNTLETT AND EVERETT, AND THEY CUT DOWN MABRY TO END THE GAME, AND THE ASTROS LEAD THIS NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES THREE GAMES TO ONE!!!!!"

Is there recent precedent to compare?  There is also the undisclosed fine.

Look, mister, there's... two kinds of dumb, uh... the guy that gets naked and runs out in the snow and barks at the moon, and, uh, guy who does the same thing in my living room. First one don't matter, the second one you're kinda forced to deal with.
Oye. Vamos, vamos.

I don't know if this is a decent comparison or whether it's considered recent, but what did Oswalt get in Atl a couple of years ago for his tirade?

Not that I know of, which is why I said "seems."

As I recall, nothing as far as a suspension. It seems the lighter the punishment the more the MLB front office sides with the player / manager.

Nothing.  I don't think anyone involved in that got anything.  Garner obviously was putting on a show to get tossed.

Sure "seems" but based on what?  Has a player thrown anything out of the dugout lately?  The other thing is that everyone knows that Garner was putting on an act.

The Link

5 games for throwing bats in the direction of umps

The Link

2 games for throwing a bucket of balls

The Link

4 games for a bucket of balls

Thanks, one case has bats being thrown at the ump, another is a tantrum involved questioning balls and strikes, helmet slamming and bat throwing.  And the last one was Milton Bradley, well known nut job.  Watson likely took into account that Garner's performance was calculated and that the chair was, from Garner's description, possessed.

Leave the ball, will ya?
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

I thought the next line was, "translate, is that some sort of threat?"

It may not be the next line, but it's the clinching line of the scene, so I went straight there.

Shoot, I almost went straight to "Coach stays", but I couldn't properly reflect tearing up a sheet of paper.
