Gallo=Sorriest Excuse For A Pitcher I've Ever Seen
« on: May 28, 2006, 02:02:08 am »
I'm guessing that he sealed his fate tonight. When coming into tonight lefties are batting 370 against you and righties 350 your days are numbered so I assume that he will be released tomorrow. Totally let's the team down and then he costs us the game again becuase his lazy ass can't throw a fucking intentional walk!!!!!!!!!! Have you ever seen somebody have a miscue on the easiest play in sports?
Make a runnnnnnnn!!!!

Wasn't he a decent pitcher in, like, 2003?

He's always been fucking terrible- His job on the team is to get lefties out and they rake his ass at an alarming rate.

He's obviously not getting the job done this year, but he did as good as can be expected in 2005.

There's Baseball Prospectus concept that, regardless of how you feel about statistical analysis, summarizes Gallo's position: VORP, value over replacement player.  The idea is that Gallo is worse than your pick of available pitchers in AAA. He is more than replacable.

as soon as he came in i heard the fat lady sing.  it was like you knew the game was going to be over before the inning was played.. to win that game last night would have probably been a much needed boost to the good guys

If VORP is used can Barzilla be called up or is he ready?  Looks like Puffer is doing well but he's a righty, and I assume we would need the lefty if possible.

When your lefty "specialist" is worse against lefties than most of the right-handers on the staff, that's a problem.

I wasn't trying to say he wasn't replacable.  I was just pointing out the fact that he hasn't "always been fucking terrible" (2.66 ERA in '05).

You can VORP all you want...

I would personally buy his bus ticket if it meant I did not have to see him pitch again.  I am convinced that that gallo has incriminating pictures of Garner or something.  i mean Gallo was freaking warming up today.  What is wrong with Garner

what do you mean he was warming up - he actually came into the game with 2 out in the 7th and, this time, did his job (K looking on McLouth)

here we go again with the Clarks.

if he is on the team, Garner has to use him or he'll be a player short. i'm all for releasing him and bringing up anyone, LH or RH.
Often wrong, but never in doubt.
