That's the Cardinal media's cute name for Rolen, Edmonds and Pujols. In spite of LaRussa holding them out against the Reds, I knew they'd be in against the Astros. Here's a run down of their conditions,
Pujols said after Wednesday's game that he continues to experience discomfort in his lower back.
"It's pretty tough when it's in your back," he said. "When you swing, it's still going to bother you. It's still bad, but if I feel 65, 70 percent, I'm not going to sit down. I'm going to do the best I can to help my team win."
Scott Rolen ended his illness-related nine-game absence, returning to the lineup in the No. 5 hole and was two for three.
La Russa suggested before the game that Rolen would play three consecutive games before probably getting Sunday afternoon off.
La Russa added that he probably will lift Rolen in midgame if he sees signs of fatigue
The LinkEdmonds was in manager Tony La Russa's lineup against a lefthanded starter Thursday, two days after being held out against Cincinnati lefthander Dave Williams.
The LinkRolen looked excellent. He's their second guy behind Pujols.
