PItchers wearing down in playoffs
« on: April 18, 2006, 11:32:39 pm »
122 pitches and 106 pitches thrown by Oswalt in and 8-0 win and a 11-2 game respectively these last two outings.  I'm sure he lobbied for the shutout chance last game but after a high total like that, take the opportunity to get him out early tonight.  I'm gonna have to start checking Garner for wristbands and toothpicks if this keeps up.

Dusty's accoutrements.

But after watching yet another frightening effort from Tremblin' Trever, I can understand why Garner might think twice about going to the pen too quickly.
I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed
Up and down the M1 in some luminous yo-yo toy
But the future has to change - and to change I've got to destroy
Oh look out Lennon here I come - land ahoy-hoy-hoy

I don't think 106 pitches poses any danger to Oswalt.

Agreed.  I wasn't subscribing to the Garner-as-meatgrinder theory, just trying to clarify.

Thanks.  I forgot about Dusty's nervous beaver-like tendencies.

Maybe Roy should only throw 25 pitches per game from now on.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.
