Arbitration Deadline
« on: December 07, 2005, 12:03:32 pm »
alright, who thinks the Astros are gonna offer:
1) Roger
2) Brad
3) Orlando

???

my quick thoughts-->  quit waiting on Roger Clemens.  He was able to hold them hostage last year after they lost out on Beltran, and since they aren't waiting on anyone else this year, he knows he can just wait it out and milk them for all it is worth.  screw that.  OTOH, he might be waiting to see if the add a bat, or offer arbitration to Ausmus.

As for Palmerio, I doubt he'll be around, seems to me they have a cheaper replacement with Hobbs.

thoughts?

I think they'll get a deal done with Ausmus and offer arbitration to the others.

I think they'll end up offering arbitration to all of them.

I don't think Hobbs would be an adequate replacement for OP, however. OP has shown that he can be very valuable. Hobbs has not. The only way OP doesn't get offered arbitration, IMO, is if they think they can sign someone better off the FA market.
phew. for a minute there, I lost myself
