Seems like the Astros are looking at Dunn

Though other teams say Brad Lidge is available, a Houston official scoffed at the notion that the Astros would trade their All-Star closer. The Astros have had discussions with Cincinnati. The Reds are looking for pitching, with reliever Chad Qualls and Minor League pitcher Fernando Nieve as targets, but Houston wants Adam Dunn and the Reds won't make that trade. Should Houston decide to take Austin Kearns instead, talks might pick up again. ...

I'd be shocked if Dunn isn't traded sometime within the next year.  I highly doubt he stays, and he will have a lot of market value when he does hit free agency(yes the Astros will be in a position to make a lucrative offer to him at that time).

With Sean Casey being moved (to the Pirates) they now have the ability to move Dunn to 1B and play all 4 of their OFers.  So the need to trade one is no longer there.

But you never know.

My opinion has nothing to do with freeing up a spot for Pena, it has everything to do with Dunn signing a longterm deal in cincinnati.   I don't think he ends up staying there longterm as I doubt they can afford the kind of longterm deal he will command and I'm not sure he wants to remain in Cincy either.  Therefore, eventually they bite the bullet and trade him for some quality pitching in my opinion, especially considering their pitching staff.

I guess if he is a free agent in 07 they can wait until the next offseason to move him, but they run the risk of getting lesser offers if they wait too long.
