If I would have thought...

before the series we'd be going to game 6 up 3-2 with Roy and Clemens left, I would have taken it.

My main concern is how Lidge bounces back from this.
The quality of my life would be greatly reduced if I did not have nostrils.

Lidge has been less than light out this series.  I think he'll bounce back fine, I'm just not sure he can get the 3rds out without them scoring.

Limey,

What was it like leaving that fucking stadium?  I am on out of town on business, or I would have been there.  Can't imagine the silence exiting that place.

In a word "processional".  The switch from beserk to deflated when Pooholes hit his dinger was one of the more painful things I remember as a sports fan.  "Kick in the nads" doesn't even come close to describing it.

HOWEVER

In the Flying Saucer about 15 mins later, we got a cheer of "Let's Go Astros!" going.  A proper one; not a faux chant while we pretended not to cry.

LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!  LET'S GO ASTROS!

Good, glad to hear the rebound.  This city does things the hard way, Roy'll be ready come Wednesday.

I'll just have to boycott all sports television until then.

Yep, perfect description, except the nads part.

...and the radio.  And definitely the Chronicle.  ESPN, of course.  Did I miss anything?

Here, possibly.
