Bagwell went 0-for-2 with a walk on Friday, in his final game in Corpus Christi. He is slated to rejoin the Astros on Saturday, at which time he will meet with Purpura and Garner and decide where to go from here.
According to Purpura, Bagwell's shoulder held up pain-free for the most part this week -- "He was a little sore, but no real negatives"
Purpura said on Friday that he will likely bring up another pitcher, in addition to right-hander Mike Burns and catcher Humberto Quintero, once the Minor League seasons are completed.
He would like to call up left-hander Carlos Hernandez, who pulled a quadriceps muscle rounding the bases during a recent Round Rock game. "He's making progress," said Purpura. "We thought he could maybe play catch today. He's one I'd really like to get here, get him on the mound for a bullpen to test the quad. The quad is like a rib-cage muscle. It takes a long time to heal."
