Astros fall 4-2 to the Cardinals
« on: July 16, 2005, 10:53:07 pm »
Morgan Ensberg  launched his 25th home run of the season in the first after a  Lance Berkman  walk, but that was one of the few bright spots of the  game  for the good guys as they lost to the division leading Co-ards 4-2 at the Busch Fans in Baseball Stadium.

Astros starter  Roy Oswalt took a 2-0 lead into the 5th before running into trouble, giving up a run scoring single to Anaheim Jim Edmonds and a three-run jack to Cathead Walker to complete the scoring.

Berkman reached base all four times on a pair of walks and a pair of singles,  Craig Biggio hit his 26th two-bagger of the year and 590 of his career, and recent call-up  Mike Burns pitched 2 solid relief innings to complete the good news of the day.

The Astros will try to avoid the sweep tomorrow at 1:15,  Roger Clemens (7-3, 1.48) vs. Chris Carpenter (13-4, 2.41)
