The Good Guys returned home from their longest road trip of the season to get a little taste of some home cookin' and maybe a few "W"s. Fortunately, the Colorado Rockies are just what the chef ordered, who stumbled into MMPUS with a lifetime 3-12 record at the Juice Box.
Andy Pettitte, fresh off a long night at the hospital awaiting the birth of his fourth little one, took the mound for the Astros and pitched a dandy, scattering five hits in seven strong innings, while walking one and punching out eight. Meanwhile, the offense roughed up Rockie starter Joe Kennedy tagging him six runs on nine hits, including Lance Berkman's first right-handed dinger of the year.
John Franco and Chad Qualls each chipped in with hitless innings of relief to nail down the shutout.
The Astros and Rox will go at it again Tuesday night when Wandy Rodriquez takes on Jamey Wright. Gametime is 7:05.
