- The Astros are no longer in the penalty box and thus aren't restricted in how much they can pay individual players.
- Estimated pool for this period is $5,232,500.*
- As noted in the other thread, the club still has monies remaining in its 2018 international pool but anything unspent there will not carryover to 2019.
*MLB hasn't yet released the actual figure for 2019. The pools get adjusted upwards annually based on increases in league-wide revenue. I applied last year's 5% pool increase to arrive at an estimate for this year.
So BA with an article today about which players are linked to certain clubs. The Astros are expected to sign Dominican SS Dauris (aka Dauri) Lorenzo for an amount likely to be greater than $1.5MM. Switch-hitter.
