Anyone see the thing on mlbtr that supposedly the Astros turned down a trade offer from the O's for Jake Arrieta in 2013? This according to Gammons, so take however large a salt piece you like, and in any case it's 100% hindsight, but fuckin' hell. I can't help it. The report doesn't say who the O's wanted, but the obvious assumption is Bud fucking Norris. The O's traded Arrieta to the Cubs (for Feldman) on July 2, 2013, and didn't acquire Norris until the 31st, but it's easy to imagine talks stretching out a while. I guess we should just ask the Cardinals what really was going on.
