Great: the Astros are so bad that when they score the other team automatically assumes that their pitcher is injured.

Nice ab there by springer.  He made the adjustment and hit the  ball where it was pitched and got an RBI.  Productive two strike approach

Astros turn the ol' 3-6 double play, but may have gotten a break on the ball being fair.

He bungled a routine flly ball into a ground rule double, never touching the ball.  I've seen 7 year olds read the ball better than he does.

Is rf really that different from cf? I never played the outfield so I wouldn't know. He got rave reviews for his defense in center in college and the minors. I wouldn't think he'd have this much trouble adjusting to a corner spot.

For whatever it's worth, he didn't have this sort of reputation at all in the minors. This suckitude has come out of nowhere.

Probably more than meets the eye. The ball comes at you differently  and you've got the walls to deal with and Springer is obviously having trouble with those. I wouldn't have expected this much trouble though with someone who is so athletic. These last two days are the most I've seen of Springer. He's numbers tell us he is doing better at the plate than he was his first couple of weeks. Still looks real raw to me though. Looks like an athlete playing baseball more than a ballplayer.

Nice game for Springer at the plate. Lots of patience drawing three walks and a solid AB taking an outside pitch to right for an RBI. I think that this game shows that he knows what to do and how to do it. What's left is to develop consistency.
