Tomas Soliz, who had a less than impressive 1.368 WHIP last season in the Mexican League, has retired the first 6 Astros hitters.

Looking at the Astros 25-man roster: 3 lefties, 5 switch-hitters and 5 righties. I like.

Alex Cabrera, who Express fans will remember tearing up the TL with the EP Diablos back in 2000 (and later went on to a long career in Japan--including a 55 HR season), is the cleanup hitter for Veracruz. Roider.

We went to tonight's game.  Here are some thoughts.

We are really going to like Carlos Correa.
There is a new barbecue stand from Killen/Caswell that has a perfectly decent brisket sandwich.
I'm thinking Mexico may not drug test, at least from some of the forearms.
I like having English/Spanish announcers.  They should do that all the time.
Defensive play by the Astros was terrific.
They had Santos at my favorite beer stand.  I really like that beer.  How's my spelling?
FIELDS! closed.  Messy, but it worked in the end.
I liked that game more than most I've seen in the past two years.  It was solid.  Maybe the 'Stros should join the Mexico league.  I'd surely like the road trips.
