In addition to managing, Fregosi also was a pretty damn good offensive-minded SS. RIP

He was traded for Nolan Ryan in the early 1970s.

Hit .287 with 29 doubles and 12 triples in 1963. Not bad for a 21-year-old SS playing in a pitching-dominated era. And had several other seasons as good or better than that one.
