It is going to be critical for Norris to have a good first inning.

I had to look him up. 2nd year, did really well last year, although predictably, better at Safeco. Somewhat homer-prone but doesn't walk anybody.

No wonder the feeds I've been getting the past two nights are from Japan.

Bud didn't have the first frame that he needed-21 pitches. He should be fined by the kangaroo court for walking a guy with two outs.

Castro walks and Carter drives him in with a hit that Ibanez bobbles. Carter takes 2nd on the throw home. 1-0 Astros.

Nice AB by Castro, coaxing a very rare walk from this guy. He took some very close pitches.

Pena can't lay off of those high pitches. They're like crack to him. And he couldn't hit those pitches with a 2 by 4.

2 x 4s are actually pretty hard to hit with, I find.

Not sure if he had the stop sign, but Ankiel's cutoff throw came in to Marwin, who clearly didn't realize Ackley was going for home. Tried to tag Chavez, who he had no shot at, before firing home, too late.

Carter doesn't look quite so stupid and awkward doing it, but he seems just as bad about chasing the low-and-outside slider as Pence was.

It doesn't. My 'rush hour' commute is typically 20 minutes, 30 at most... There was a semi-truck fire 2 miles NORTH of my office. How that affected my commute due SOUTH though is beyond me...

Yeah, I think Ford & Sparks were much better hirings than Ashby, based on what I've heard of both so far.

Nope, 6.8 miles south of downtown.

On a side note, those community billboards at MMPIS finally provided a public service - totally obscured my view of Morales crushing that ball over the train tracks...

Sometimes he's just unnecessarily caustic. Dickish. That's the best way to put it. I'll be curious to see what happens when he's paired exclusively with the very non-dickish Blum.

So Maxwell went for x-rays on his left hand after the HBP. For those who are curious, Grossman is hitting .324 at OKC, with a .452 OBP and 13 runs in 19 games, albeit with 20 K.

I think we need only look at Wallace's OKC/Houston splits to realize that we should go slow here.

I believe he has only one extra base hit, a double. But that's ok...sounds like a good #2 hitter.
