Baseball America announced their minor-league and classification All-Stars today. Singleton and DDS were shown some love, earning 1st-team honors at their respective positions. Here's a snippet of what they had to say about DDS:
DeShields picked the wrong year to steal 101 bases. Had the 2010 first-rounder done it last year, then he'd be mentioned today in the same breath as Billy Hamilton. Regardless, the Astros have to be encouraged by DeShields' growth at the plate.
In the All-Stars named for each classification, we didn't have any pitchers selected, but several position players were. Here's the breakdown:
AAA-none
AA-Singleton, Krauss
High-A-none
Low-A-
DDS*Short-Season-Aplin, Tucker
Rookie-none
*DDS was also named Player of the Year for Low-A.
