Cashner might fan 20.

I haven't seen Cashner that much, but I don't recall any secondary pitch that was as devastating as Kerry Wood's pre-surgery slider. However, he may not have used it as a reliever. I've never seen him pitch as a starter, so it's conceivable that he has one.

CJ makes a close to routine play exciting. He's really not very good over there.

Keuchel is up early. Hopefully, he'll settle down a bit. He pitches around the Headley single. 0- Bottom 1

0-0 Top 3 Through two, I haven't seen a good secondary pitch from Cashner except for the 3-2 changeup to Lee, but he may be saving it for the second time through the order.

He will need to find a pitch to get inside on righties.  His fastball probably won't work for that.  Cutter maybe.

I agree. You can't live out there all the time or hitters will start cheating. He needs to get in some kitchens and break some bats.

Dallas is getting some decent glove work tonight.

And I like the fact that the Padres hitters hustle down the line.  They make most plays close.

I was out watching the space station pass over. How'd we get the third run?

Scotty Moore (taking a break from touring and recording with Elvis) singled and JD went first to third. He would have advanced home on an errant throw to third but for some inexplicable reason Clark was kneeling in the direct path of the ball and got dinged in the jimmies, knocking him over like a duckpin. The next pitch was a wild low and away slider that Hundley couldn't handle and JD trotted home.

Seriously. What is wrong with Myers? Seemed like he threw a few good curves, but mostly it was the fastball, which was 91-93. Just shitty control/location?
