I'll be flipping back and forth between the Astros and Stanford-FSU. Appel's worked himself into quite a jam here in the fourth.

Is there anyone less interested in playing baseball than J.D. Martinez?

Martinez makes Bell look like Ted Fucking Williams.  Martinez has shut it down a long time ago...he's just still hitting cleanup for the Astros.

Two hits through the left side score a run apiece, 5-1 FSU, still nobody out.

THEN Appel throws a ridiculously wild pitch and scores another. Jesus.

That was a tall order asking that young man to pitch in a big game the same week that he drafted in the first round but far lower than he expected.

I saw some games in Chicago back in 2005 when I Was in rehab up there. It is a palace compared to old Comsikey, where practically every tenth seat was obstructed by a pole.

I saw a three game series against the Angels there back in 1981 or 1982. I was so hammered that I forget when I was there.

Who would have predicted that Downsie would be buried in the minor leagues this season? Not me. Gonzalez goes on the DL and they recall Bixler instead of Downsie. I bet hat he's frosted.

What was the final damage on Appel?  I watched it up to six runs, but started the recording of this game.  Tough call on Wandy's pitch to Dunn.

It's not hate.  It's observation about his baseball playing.  The fact that he appears to not even be trying is fucking annoying though.

When CJ whiffs on a breaker outside in the dirt, does he look like he is trying?  Serious question. This guy has a nasty pitch that is making a lot of righties look bad, not just JD.

I was wondering whether Lucas was on scene or in the studio back in Houston. He's in Chi-town.

When CJ whiffs on a breaker outside in the dirt, does he look like he is trying?  Serious question. This guy has a nasty pitch that is making a lot of righties look bad, not just JD.

A big league hook can make you look really badly. Of course he's trying. Silly question.

Martinez is just lost, like he's guessing wrong. He hits the ball, just not well. I don't know if that means he's close, or if it's just luck and great reflexes that get him that far.

Yes he does.  Martinez doesn't.

Well, gentlemen, I thought this day would never come. My Marea Roja is about to kick off against Honduras and, as Bud Selig might say, this time it counts.

Honduras is the best opponent in the group and it will be most interesting to see how my guys play in their stadium.

Honduras might want to cut a verse or two from their national anthem, maybe keep the whole thing at roughly In a Gadda Da Vida length.

For those of you who lasted until the bitter end of last night's debacle, how did Bogusevic look on the hill?  I mean besides giving up a two run homer to Freese.

He was okay, but nothing you would want to send ou on a regular basis.

Actually, I thought (and still do) that the original statement had to do with Mrs. HH trying to figure out which of the characters here was her husband.

Although I imagine that Mrs. RB could figure out who her husband is, too.

For those of you who lasted until the bitter end of last night's debacle, how did Bogusevic look on the hill?  I mean besides giving up a two run homer to Freese.

He looked like an outfielder pitching. But in fairness I don't know if he even warmed up in the pen.

That'd be great. Speaking of Chapman, he finally gave up a run and got tagged for a loss. This week. Phenomenal start.

In Wallace's defense, strike 3 was the same pitch as ball 2 and neither were very close.

Bottom eight, runner on first, no outs, FeRod in to pitch.

In Wallace's defense, strike 3 was the same pitch as ball 2 and neither were very close.

I agree, but this guy has been all over the place tonight, so I thought that he should have protected the plate there.

What happened to CJ?  I stepped out of the room earlier and missed it.  Gameday lists it as "Chris Johnson leaves the game with an injured head."

"about".  They're all different, and no one knows how long each one is going to last.

Even if they go to PK's after two extra halves they are still shorter than a Yankees/RedSox game or an NFL game.

You know what? There's been one yellow card thus far and it was on a Panamanian player who's since been subbed out for a ridiculous, blatant flop. Karl Malone would have winced at that one. Anyway, there's very little of that bullshit in these games. This is Honduras and Panama, not Mexico.

Blas Perez looks a bit like a rat. He is an offensive force. He plays in the MLS for Dallas, sadly. His first goal today was fucking sick. I've seen him score any number of times with his back to the goal but this one was insane.

And now we have a penalty kick on a brutal foul in the zone.

A 2-0 ass kicking against the best team in our group in their own stadium. Maybe the global rankings need a shake-up. Anyway, I'm fixing to pound the Balboa.

Tuesday at home against Cuba. It's going to be nuts.

You should be prepared to drink mojitos and smoke a Habano puro on Tuesday.  I would.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

I've got to get home from the game somehow. I think I'll stick to a couple of Panamas. I'll have to hit the ATM beforehand because at the stadium beers cost a full dollar. It's an outrage how they gouge the fan.

I've got fifteen, twelve from one guy. Not spectacular.

I had Milwood going against the Dodgers, and he had a no-hitter through 6 and then injured himself warming up for the 7th. FML.
I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed
Up and down the M1 in some luminous yo-yo toy
But the future has to change - and to change I've got to destroy
Oh look out Lennon here I come - land ahoy-hoy-hoy
