YouTube Turns 7 Today

Amazing.

I can't even remember back before it existed.  When I discovered it, I assumed it had been around forever, and I'd only just found out.

You can't remember having to go to 6,000 different websites to watch videos, and the tangled mess of incompatible RealPlayer, QuickTime, and Window Media codecs?  BUFFERING...Lucky you.

Blocked it.  It resides in the same brain-oubliette the 1990 FA Cup Final replay and Ensberg's 2005 playoff performance.

And yet with this 7th year comes more head scratching imperfection from the provider. I can't understand why YouTube is such a hit or miss provider of streamed video. For me, Vimeo is better and I wish more mainline providers would leave YouTube and land on Vimeo for much more stable delivery standards.
