From what I've reading in the papers here the US is basically bringing their JV team to tonight's friendly but it will still be a great time. Look for me, I'll be the guy in the red shirt.

Do you live in Panama? How was it? I watched on ESPN3. Nice to get the win away from home, but wasn't the prettiest of games. The only players there who have a shot at playing for the full strength squad are Jones, Shea, and Cameron (don't know if you saw the replay, but the red card was a pretty awful call--looks like he won the ball cleanly).

I like Shea. He's quick and busts his ass usually but I think he's getting worn out a bit.  Has he had an off season at all?

Not much of an offseason for Shea (he trained with Arsenal right after the end of the MLS season), but there's soccer minds on both sides who disagree whether or not the players need one (most in Europe play for their club from August-May and then country from June-July). Apparently Shea had a cold. Probably more important was the lack of talent around him. He's a good player, but he's not ready to lead the U.S. Rather, he's a player who will be a nice compliment to Dempsey and Donovan, among others.

Ah just a cold. Good. I was hoping he wan't burnt out already because yeah soccer players don't often get real off seasons.  He's still young so I'm not going to say he can or can't be a leader, right now he just needs to get out there and play in the highest levels possible.  Maybe make a jump to Europe in the coming years.

I'm guessing he will have plenty of Euro interest, especially after the Olympics this summer and World Cup Qualifying. FC Dallas already had an offer from Dinamo Kyiv, but it was rejected: http://www.noshortcorners.com/2012/01/money-its-gotta-be-hair.html
