No score after 1. Norris has a good heater tonight, hitting 96 once and 95 twice.

He must be fairly deceptive, too: Pujols was fooled badly on that pitch he popped up.

He had a case of big eyes on a high piece of cheese. Seen it a 1000 times. They can't get that pitch, but it looks so good.

JD line of the decade: They were talking about the new grass at Busch, which came from Colorado. JD said "I hear that you can get some good grass in Colorado." Priceless.

Wallace needs to watch how Barmes drops the head on that down-and-in pitch.

Barmes!!!

Is it just me, or is Altuve getting busted inside in a large majority of his pitches?

No. It's not unusual to start a guy that way until he proves that he can get around on it.

I'm surprised we're not hearing more about Barmes on the trade front...great in the field and he's been swinging the bat really well as of late.

Another night another really nice play in the field to save a run from Barmes

It's even better than that, because if they hadn't fucked up the sac they still would have scored at least one.

Bourn's the kind of guy who is traditionally undervalued on the free agent market. I'm no fan of Boras, but I'll be happy to see Bourn get the kind of contract he deserves. I'll be sad that it's with another team.

Yes, it would have been very sweet to see Pujols out by 3 lengths. It would have been even better to listen to LaRussa justify it in the postgame conference.

I don't think they were blaming that one on the *new* grass, just commenting that it skipped a little bit because of the grass. Same thing would have happened with the old grass.

One of the little hopeful things I am clinging to these days is that Jason Castro can come back for the last few weeks of the season and provide some hope for next year.

Ok, so I just tuned in for the first time.  9th inning, 2 outs, 2 on, up 2, Pujols up.  Perfect.
Don't think twice, it's alright.

Why pitch to Albert?

Because Holliday beat the shit out of the ball twice tonight.

That was when I flipped back to it as well.  What a great win.  62 more of these and RFTL is mine!!!!  It carries over into next year, right?

Let's see: 10 more this year, 50 next year, I think you're going to need to carry over to 2013.

You fuckers owe me for last night's win: I went out on a limb and predicted earlier in this thread that we'd lose the game even when we were winning early.
