With all the talk about Roy possibly being traded I thought I'd research some trades the Astros have made in the past. I'm talking about trades made during the season.

Only 3 times has Houston traded a pitcher during the season who had at least 9 wins. 2 Ding!s apiece for naming them.

Yep. I guess they knew he was near the end and wasn't exactly focused on conditioning. This guy was near the end too.

Osteen was in his late 30's. Wynn hit over 30 HR's for LA and continued to draw BB's at an incredible rate.

He had one very good year with LA, one mediocre year, and then fell off the table. Osteen had a good half a season and he was done.

Like you, I didn't understand why they made the deal but poor judgment wasn't exactly uncharted territory for the Astros.
