McLane might howl about not getting enough value for either inflated contract.

Of all the contracts on that page, these are the only two referred to as 'inflated'.
Oye. Vamos, vamos.

I've never understood the logic of "you don't have many good players, so it's imperative that you get rid of the few you *do* have."
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Because then you get back more players who will be good once they make the majors.  Sheesh, why can't you understand that?

Wait...so for every good player I get rid of, I'll get 3 future good players in return?  Being a GM is easy.  I guess it's no wonder that every other GM in baseball (besides me) is an idiot, huh?

Not quite.  At least one of those three has to turn out to be a perennial all-star, including their rookie year.  That's why everyone else's GM is a genius.

Sounds to me like you're ready to be the GM of the Pittsburgh Pirates!
