Anyone have the over/under on Kabong getting nailed in the ribs tonight for his bat flip / admiration of the walk-off last night?

They should dot Gutierrez for serving him up such a beefy pitch.

Oswalt Inning™ alert: Diamondbacks score 3 on Wandy in the top of the third.

Middle 3: ARI 4, HOU 0.

And in other MLB news, it may be about time to flip over and check out the WAS/ATL game.

And nevermind... ATL breaks up NAT no-hit bid with 1 out in the 8th...

Haren with 7 strikeouts thru 3... wow! (Bourn with a lead-off double though, so no chance at being no hit...).

End 3: ARI 4, HOU 0

Puma smacks one to 3B that proves too hot to handle for Reynolds (E5).  Runners on 1B and 2B, no outs.  Spaz to the dish.

I cringe every time he comes to the plate or fields a batted ball.

Build his confidence?  The reality is that Pence has no situational clue (re: Baseball Smarts).  He's still Mr. Grip it and Rip It.  So a slider will be something he either swings and misses on or he'll roll over on (and the latter is much more sad in a rally).  Imagine, Pence talks to himself and says "What would MoBerg do?" and then take the ball (slider) to right to move both Berkman and Lee to another base.  With Blum's single, they probably have two runs, one for sure and possibly Blum sitting on second with only one out and not two.

Baseball smarts, thy name is not Hunter Pence.

And the strike call on Berkman was no where near the plate.  Basically put him behind in the count with a runner on second base.

Per JD: 19 hits allowed by Wandy in his last two starts (8.2 innings).

T5: Lopez on the hill

Reynolds: Bourn and Lee converging towards one, Bourn with the catch.  1 out.

LaRoche: hits one into left past the outstretched glove of Carlos Lee, ball takes an odd bounce and LaRoche ends up at 3B.  1 out, infield playing in a bit.

Young: strikes out swinging.  2 outs, runner at 3B.

Ryal - Popped the 2-2 pitch in foul territory in shallow right, Puma unable to make the over-the-shoulder basket catch...  Taps the 3-2 pitch to Blum who barehands it and throws to 1B for the inning-ending out for an infield single (with a big assist from 1BU), run scores.  ARI 6, HOU 2

Snyder: flies out to left (to end the inning for real this time...).  3 outs.

Middle 5: ARI 6, HOU 2

So a slider will be something he either swings and misses on or he'll roll over on (and the latter is much more sad in a rally).

I was driving home during Pence's second at bat, and Haren's first pitch was slider.  "Hmmm," says DoRay.  "He hasn't really shown a slider yet tonight."

No fucking shit.

Freezing for seconds at a time.  Not using NexDef, video quality at the lowest setting.  Dealt with HP support today who said the video card on the netbook can't adequately handle the games (though it wasn't nearly this bad last week as it has been this week - and yes, have run my virus/spyware scan).  Just gonna have to grin and bear it until I can get my notebook fixed...  *sigh*™

Video cards and low bandwidth are the most common issues I read about. I have a pretty fat laptop and I'm amazed sometimes at how good it looks.

FoxTrax is good for 3 bad calls per night.  Someone should compile all of these

Is FoxTrax considered correct, or is it just another TV geegaw?

I didn't see how Puma made an out but he did, and crazily enough Pence!!! bounced out to SS. Blum's up with two down. Looking for a 3-run HR here but instead, he delivers a single to center.

Lance got robbed on ball 4, then grounded out to second.

Haren dominates Manzella for a three-pitch strikeout, Haren's 9th of the game. Astros lose, 6-3.

I'm guessing it's using the pFx data, which is likely very accurate.  Ive yet to see a single pitch that looked marked wrong on FoxTrax, and almost every call that looked to be bad has been confirmed bad by it, in near real time.

I hoped it was tied in to that, but hadn't seen anything that would confirm it.
