Kaz chases a foul ball three rows into the stands, doesn't make the catch but still flies over the railing and smashes into the seats. Appears to be okay. Shaky start but no runs in the first half inning.

Top 1:
Single down LF line, bounces off Ignoramus Point, Lee holds to single
Renteria singles to left, Rowand hold
Kung Fu Panda grounds into a nice 4-6-3 DP.
Huff fights through 10+ pitches, flies to CF.

Myers gives up singles to the first two hitters he faces, but Sandoball grounds into a lovely 4-6-3. Huff fouls off a number, including one that sends Matsui tumbling over the rail. Didn't get the ball but he didn't get hurt. Nice effort. Myers drops a nice CB for what looks like a high strike, but doesn't get the call. Huff then pops out to Bourn for the third out.

Astros send three easy ground balls to Renteria. Quick inning for Cain.

DeRosa lines a single to center. Bowker puts a high fastball into the Astros' bullpen. Uribe sends a fly to deep left center, but Bourn tracks it down. Whiteside lines a single to center. Cain sacs him over, but Rowand flies out to Pence on the warning track. Ugh.

Carlos pops out to C.

Huff makes a nice play to get Blum's liner to first.

Feliz gets a hard hit to Sandoval's left and stretches it into a double.

Keppinger bounces one off the pitcher and hustles down the line, but Cain gets the ball and throws him out.

Keppinger can't grab Renteria's grounder up the middle. Single.

Sandoval singles over Feliz's head.

Huff breaks his bat and bounces the ball off Myers' feet, Myers can't get him at first. Bases loaded, nobody out.

Keppinger goes to his right to snag DeRosa's grounder, throws to Kaz, 6-4-3 DP. Run scores. 3-0 Gints.

Bowker lines out to Blum at first. Nice play.

Myers gets Uribe swinging. I suddenly realize how foreign the sight of Myers missing a bat seems today.

Whiteside flies out to Carlos.

Myers gets Cain looking with a curve on the outside corner. 3 up, 3 down.

Gunther comes up hacking, reaches second when Sandoval turns his lazy grounder into a lovely throwing error.

Carlos goes down swinging. 1 out.

Blum grounds to second. 2 out, Pence to third.

Feliz doubles on another hard shot to left. Pence scores. 3-1 Giants.

Keppinger K's swinging. Inning over.

3-1 Giants after 4.

Rowand grounds to third. 1 down.

Renteria singles on a grounder through the left side.

Sandoval. Hits the ball. Off the wall. Slides into second, wins the call. ...runners on second and third.

Huff grounds out to Matsui, runners hold. 2 out.

DeRosa flies out to Bourn. Inning over.

Towles flies out to right.

Myers strikes out. 2 away.

Bourn brings Huff in with a grounder, flips to Cain, beats Bourn to the bag. Inning over.

3-1 after five. I'm amazed Myers has thrown only 15 pitches more than Cain.

Bowker grounds out to Kazuo on the first pitch.

Uribe grounds to short, 2 away.

Whiteside fouls one into Towles' testicles (dibs on that name for his fan group, btw). He draws a walk, jogs to first, and returns to the dugout when...

Cain strikes out swinging. Inning over.

leadoff triple, and astros bring their infield way in to prevent the run.  single up the middle, and myers replaced by byrdak.  so our offense is that shitty that the mills knows there's no chance we can make up a 3-run lead in 3 innings?

nothing too bad.  stabbed at the ball backhand as it bounced in the hole in right center, ball glanced off his glove and kept going.  pence wasn't in position to back him up, or couldn't get over in time, and the runner got a triple.

Got back to the TV just in time to see Sullivan's triple. Would've been one hell of a catch by Rowand.

4-3 Giants now with Blum and Keppinger scoring. Two out, Bochy going to the 'pen.

Sammy enters the game, gives up a double to Uribe on the first pitch.

Whiteside grounds to Gervacio, whose throw to third goes wide of Feliz and winds up in the LF corner. Uribe scores, Whiteside to third. 5-4 Giants.

Velez grounds to Sammy, who this time wisely opts to take the out at first. Runner holds. 1 out. Rowand drives him in with a single to center. 6-4 Giants.

Gervacio, looking awful, allows Rowand to get to second on a wild pitch. Mills and The Great Mustache out to the mound to see if Sammy's ok. Apparently he's not, so they're going to the 'pen once more.

The BBGs watching the Champions League?

Quote from: The Guardian
41 min: AND THIS, I WOULD SUGGEST, IS THAT. Manchester United 3-0 Bayern Munich (agg 4-2). Gibson throws in down the right. Valencia bursts down the wing and into the box, and passes into the centre. The ball avoids everyone in the middle and reaches Nani, 12 yards out to the left of goal. The winger hammers an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net, and Bayern Munich are surely finished.

Followed immediately by:

Quote from: The Guardian
43 min: OR IS IT?!? Manchester United 3-1 Bayern Munich (agg 4-3). Olic chases a Muller header into the box down the inside-left channel. He barges Carrick off the ball with ease, and bobbles a finish into the bottom-right corner from a very tight angle. That was played out in slow-motion, to silence. It's back on, though you wouldn't fancy Bayern to hold out at the back for another 47 minutes of football.

Munich scored again and will be awards the win on the away goals rule as it stands.  About 10 mins left.

The Jints are hitting .420 off of our pitching today. That does not portend good things.

That's a high they may never reach again.

Sampson in. Renteria walks, reaching base for the fifth time today.

Sandoughball (I'm fucking proud of that one) flies out to Carlos. 2 away, runners at first and second.

Huff flies out to Bourn, inning over.

PENCE!!! ...strikes out on a check-swing.

Carlos taps to short. 2 down.

Blum pops to second for the third out. Zip, zop, zoobity-bop.

6-4 Giants after eight.

What do you think has a greater gravitational pull: the hole in Pence's swing or Lee's body mass?

Ahem.

Quote from: Me
Looking at the projected lineup, this team is going to have to win on pitching and defense, and it is questionable in both areas. Even if the meat of the order is productive, it’s still only 2½ sluggers surrounded by Punch, Judy and a few of their ilk. Even then, while defense up the middle will be one of the best in the majors, and 3B has been shored up, the corner outfield spots will continue to be a rich vein of comedy.
