Ok State started the season beating Georgia 24-10 and then later on Oct 10 beat A&M 36-31

Arkansas lost a shoot out to Georgia on Sept 19 (52-41) and then dominated A&M on Oct 3 (47-19)

Tech pounded K-State who pounded A&M who pounded Tech. Crazy game at times, college football.

I think it's pretty clear that, for a variety of reasons, this year's Big 12 didn't have the quality of teams that previous year's Big 12 has.

Oh, and a receiver who caught the ball at the end of the first half and juked around for 3 or 4 seconds instead of getting his ass on the ground, resulting in the end-of-the-quarter spike happening too close to 0 seconds for the somnabulist timekeeper to fall on the button before time ran out.

And 46 or 47 completely unnecessary interceptions.

And about 25 3rd-and-9 conversions by Georgia.

Very frustrating.

Welcome to the entire Aggie season. They had better games than this, but this was somewhat typical.

I think we roll if luck plays, but c'est la vie.

It was sypposed to be about 51 but a lot of sun and got pretty warm. Got stuck in traffic from the airport so just ate at the stadium. Pretty decent mexican including a really tasty brisket burrito.

Of course OU probably wouldn't have minded having their stud QB either, but if he's healthy this year they are probably not playing in the sun bowl.

Tried to tell you man.   It's not awesome Mexican food or anything, but as far as stadium food goes, the Sun Bowl and Haskins Center are pretty good.   I'd rather spend $1 on a picadillo burrito or a deshebrada burrito than $9 on dome nachos any damn day.

Both sides do this. It's standard practice. It's not confirmed, but it's rumored that Mack Brown and/or Will Muschamp have spoken to Urban Meyer and Gene Chizik at least.

It's common practice for coaches to share film and strategy with other coaches.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Exchanging film is common and I'm sure coaches speak with each other all the time. It's a fraternity like any other industry where you have your friends you want to help and those that you would rather see fall on their ass. Several Nebraska sources have confirmed that OU DC Venables went to Lincoln before the Big 12 game to consult with Pellini and Stoops has been seen in Tuscaloosa with Saban. Saban downplays that he was there to "consult". Now, maybe Stoops has a daughter with girl scout cookies to sell but this seems well beyond the norm to me....or maybe I see red because it's OU.

I just thought Big 12 schools would want to support each other, particuarlly for their own benefit later.  Assuming more bowl wins = higher preseason rankings next year.

I'm sure Stoops would love to see Texas get their ass handed to them Thursday nite and I can't blame him. Recruiting Texas is not going as well for OU as it once did and recruiting against the Nat'l Champs is just that much more difficult.

MB has addressed this issue in his PC yesterday upon arriving in SoCal. He said he had never personally brought another coach to his campus but that he didn't see anything wrong with a coach doing whatever he can to gain an advantage. He even considered it a compliment.

Bringing a coach to his campus would be uncharacteristically high-profile for Mack Brown. Running into them while in the area recruiting, however, happens all the time.

It's not always head coaches who do this, y'know.

Why is the GMAC Bowl so late on the bowl season docket? Stadium availability issues due to monster truck rallies? Or is the bowl game the opener for an Alabama/Marshall Tucker/Charlie Daniels reunion to follow?

I'm not sure what shocked me more: the rubenesque dancers or the enthusiastic cowbell girl.

Rubenesque: that's a very genteel description.

Well, the announcers said he is a good zone read runner. Obviously, Boise did not read about TCU on this board.

Great game, I had no idea Boise could play that level of defense, I guess shutting down Oregon should have been my first clue. Dalton didn't look sharp from the beginning and never really got it going and speaking of Andy Dalton, did any of the Houston area folks stay up to watch the news after the game? Fox did a story about a 12 year old girl with Cancer and the relationship her and Andy have developed, he wears her bracelet (as does Tebow) and has all season long. He even got a 15 yard penalty for pointing to it after a touchdown in a game earlier in the season. The girl's name is Presley Boydstun and her Father is my friend/co-worker/boss. A very touching story.

The guy calling the camera shots in the trailer took suck to a very fine level.  With the exception of a few glimpses at attractive TCU rah-rah girls, you'd be hard pressed to find a broadcast that excelled in the number of higly unflattering crowd/band shots, particularly of the Idahodians.  The orange manatees were, of course, notable in their impressive hideousness (I swear I heard screaming all down the block) as were the lobotomized Bronco band members featured during the gala halftime entertainment.  But, for me, the shot of the Chi Omega guzzling a Bud Light set the standard for college football viewing.

Southern Marching Band, halftime of a Mavericks game at old ReUnion Arena, circa 1986:  most entertaining halftime show I've ever witnessed, save perhaps for that Chinese couple that launches stacks of plates from his feet to her head, all while riding a unicycle.  I saw saw Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction, but it was difficult to know what I'd missed from section 606.

Alabama has a storied football history rivaled only by Notre Dame. They are a great program with a great team this year. Saban has brought the program back to where it hasn't been since Gene Stallings retired. The defense is the best in the nation. Their special teams are marvelous. Their quarterback is a stud from Texas. The have the Heisman Trophy winner. All the experts pick them to beat UT. It's like it's a done deal. I think I'm still gonna watch the game though.
