Astros signed RHP Josh Banks to a minor league contract.
Banks was sent outright to Triple-A Portland last season after posting a 7.15 ERA in 22 1/3 innings (three starts and three relief appearances) with the Padres. The 27-year-old right-hander will fight for a spot in the Houston bullpen during spring training this year.
