But that includes food and drinks.  Ever seen anyone advertise "World's Best Hotdogs?"  Those really better be, for that price.
I say smorgasbord!

Jesus. I went to Yankee Stadium for a game last year, paid something in the $40s for our tickets and this year, the same seats are $300. Insane.
I'm in love with rock and roll and I'll be out all night.

give it 1 month to wear off- the novelty of the stadium- and those tickets will be available outside the stadium for $200. if the mets get off to a good start, the yankees pricing plan has given them (another) opportunity. my kids chose to be mets fans, not yankees ones, because they liked the experience better going to games there as opposed to yankee stadium.

The Yankees are dumb shits, they should have priced it at $2624.99. I read somewhere that you can sell more stuff with that kind of price structuring.
Everyone's talking, few of them know
The rest are pretending, they put on a show
And if there's a message I guess this is it
Truth isn't easy, the easy part's shit

Yeah, it's sort of an open secret that the old Yankee Stadium had nothing wrong with it.  In fact, it was in far better condition than Fenway or Wrigley.  The new stadium is "more modern"-has more skyboxes and less seats for the plebes.  If I were a Yankees fan, I'd be pretty upset.  They tore down one of baseball's most hallowed shrines to justify a meteoric rise in ticket prices.

"plebes" is the operative word. YS was built before we re-locked feudalism into our lives- there is no separation between the big-shots and the average joes (excepting for rudy g's special box next to the dugout). i'll never forget, at the 5-pitcher no-hitter game, looking up and there is drayton mclane standing 12 inches from my seat, on the field level concourse, "lost" looking for his seat. he was obviously a bit uncomfortable outside his security coccoon like he has in houston, but i'll give him props for going back-and-forth with several yankees fans who recognized him.

My condolences.

condolences for them, for the annual heartbreak.

my 9-yo, new to following along on an everyday basis, got quite a taste last year. he also invented a verb, to "niese" as in john niese, whom he watched serve up a grand slam to jamie moyer to basically end the mets season. but he was a good fan, cheering wildly for TB to beat PHI, a no-brainer since PHI beat the NYM and since TB beat BOS
