Best beer I ever drank was a Schlitz.  I'm sure it was crappy and all that, but I was flat out tired and sitting in the bed of a ranch foreman's equally worn out truck and that was what he offered up.  It even wasn't all that cold.  But for whatever reason, it really hit the spot.

The first beer I ever hoisted was a Schlitz. I will look for it for nostalgic reasons.

Schlitz returns

Fellow TZers, please post in here if you see these appear in Texas.  Although I'm too young to have drunk it myself, my grandparent's "beachfront" house in LaPorte was covered in Schlitz (and Lone Star) memorabilia, so I'd love to have grab a sixer if just for grandpa's sake.

Since I haven't purchased a Shitz in almost 30 revolutions around the sun, I didn't realize they were gone.

I *think* those are some of the remaining pre-revival Schlitz soon to be rolled out in fancy new bottles and cans.  Instead of retro-shitty, what you saw are just the remaining plain shitty products.

It's been available in SA for years however, it is most certainly the shitty version.  I just saw a twelve pack at HEB for $6.29 I believe.

It's good... if you like Old Milwaukee filtered through a bum's ass crack and then left to warm in the sun for several hours.

That is kind of curious.  I could have sworn when I worked for the beer distributor that we carried Schlitz.

I remember Schlitz being available all the time, recently.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Me too. It was certainly available in Boston from 2000 - 2003. My roomate kept the fridge stocked with it. "Just a kiss of hops."

I believe they meant that the original recipie was being used again.
