In the station's defense, I think the new PD is making an effort to address the concerns of Austin-area Astros fans.

He made a very strange move when he got rid of Erin Hogan and also Chad Hastings (much as I disliked the latter).  However, when the previous PD before him took 1300 down the sinkhole, it was going to take a lot to pull them back up.  Not sure getting rid of talent like Hogan was a good idea though.

Hogan and Hastings are both on 1530 ESPN now. I like Hogan, but I'm not getting up early just to listen to his show.

... but I might get up early to avoid listening to Bucky Godboldt on 1300 ... that guy is terrible.  He was going on and on today like he actually paid attention to baseball, but it was painfully obvious that he did not.  If only I had been in my own car ...

Makes you realize how much Hogan carried the guy for all those years.  But after a while, even Hogan got tired of it and started to just wing it on air with what he said and it showed... especially in terms of the Astros.

I'm not sure how he manages to be that bad withOUT preparation ... sorta like scoring a zero on a multiple choice test.

Hogan's a hero.  Wait...
Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.

Bucky does need someone with actual sports knowledge to work with.  Outside football, he's lost.

Hogan ought to let someone else get a word in once in a while.  The guy rarely lets his co-host talk.

During the NCAA tournament this year, Buckly was discussing the best basketball players ever by conference.  When they came to the SWC he was like "nobody really comes to mind...."  With all the talent that went through Houston alone not to mention Arkansas.  Unbelievable.  That's when I quit listening to Bucky.

The new PD has only been on the job about a month, I think.  Hastings was laid off in '07, Hogan walked in January.

Your Austin Wranglers AFLD flagship station.
Don't forget the Austin Toros NDABL flagship station!  And the coaches call-in shows for both.
