Wrigley Field South?

Astros vice president of guest services Marty Price.

“I think we have one of the best baseball stadiums in America, and that brings value to the experience," said Price, who, without reservations, believes Minute Maid Park is turning into "Wrigley Field South or Fenway Park South."'

Price is hoping to encourage the comparison of the Astros ballpark with those parks, because it does compare, at least in one way

(Even though the) priciest and most coveted tickets in baseball are Red Sox ($47.71 average) and Cubs ($34.30) home games.  (The Astros are not far behind and) at $26.90, they had the eighth-most expensive average ticket price in the majors in 2007, ...

adding to that cost,

The Astros are bumping some season-ticket prices $1 per game and single-game tickets $2. In addition, ticket prices for six home games this summer will be higher, with the New York Yankees (June 13-15) and Red Sox (June 28-30) paying rare visits.

Why?

"We have to generate revenue," Astros director of ticket sales Bill Goren said. "We have to be able to pay the Miguel Tejadas."

Here's betting that Marty Price likes to prance around his condo like a Kansas City faggot, wearing a Cubs hat and a Red Sox thong with a deeply entrenched Yankee butt plug.

I thought for sure this was going to be about the fact that MMPUS is packed with squealing 8 year olds wearing Cub gear everytime they come to town.

Why doesn't he just be honest and say, "There's a delicate balance between how much to charge and and how many people attend games. We feel that it is most important to provide a quality product, a quality ballclub, this is what our fans want too. We also realize the value of seeing a game in person is enhanced by the ambiance provided by Minute Maid Park. Still, we recognize that our fans cover the economic spectrum and their zeal for attending games is as wide ranging. That is why we have tier pricing, special promotions, discounts, and budget family events. And it is our commitment that we always provide affordable family entertainment while providing a ballclub that competes for the Championship, year after year."

And if there's a message I guess this is it
Truth isn't easy, the easy part's shit

I could live with a couple of bucks more per ticket if they would get rid of those annoying cows on the foul poles.  I know baseball and crass commercialism are inseparable,  the term "bullpen" comes from the name of a chewing tobacco, etc. but the foul poles are technically in fair territory.  They look silly.  They reflect poorly on aesthetics of the ark and the dignity of the game.

I really hope that was not a typo!  I would much prefer the very clever Noahic reference.
