Spring Training Schedule Out

Cant wait, this will be the wife and I's third year attending, just need to pick out a weekend now.

There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

I can't go this year, but love the trip to Kissimmee.  I think this is the Dodgers' last year at Vero Beach - that's a sure trip to take if you haven't been there.  Not far from Kissimmee.

That's a shame isn't it?  My wife and I have been going to spring training for years.  Some of our best memories of spring training are from games we attended at Vero Beach.  That ballpark is old school.  I'll definitely try to make it to a game there this year.

Can someone give me so info on Split Squad games?    When they do the SS, do they send all the scrubs to the road game, and the regulars stay and play the home game?   Or is it 50/50 regulars going to each game?

MLB rules require a certain number of starting-type players, usually 4-5, in any game.   Of course, in all ST games, the regulars leave the game (and sometimes the ballpark) early.

It's a crap shoot.  I've seen both ends of the spectrum in terms of regulars and their playing time.  A tip...we like to try and plan our trip from the middle of March on.  This way guys like Oswalt are pitching 5, 6, maybe 7 innings and position players are playing 5-6 innings minimum.

I believe it is also Cleveland's last year at Lakeland.

Goodbye Winter Haven. Hello Goodyear.

I was thinking it was Winter Haven and then went with Lakeland.  Whatever.

The people we spoke with didn't seem that upset that Cleveland was leaving.  Too bad.  I'd rather go to Florida than Arizona.  (I like beaches better than deserts.)
