Some insight into the process of FA signings
« on: December 06, 2007, 04:49:52 pm »
Wade on being honest with players upfront, rather than screwing them over later:

Quote
I'd rather have a player uncomfortable, upset on the front end rather than to put my arm around him and whisper sweet nothings in his ear and not fulfill the promises going forward.

So it's the reach-around that gets GMs into trouble!

I don't know, from rumors I have heard (and made up), Pettitte likes it when you reach around.

See, that sounds like the GM is cool with the reach-around and gets things started, but then doesn't seal the deal. Probably because Drayton walked into the room or something.

CTW = Reach-around

So, by transitive property:

CTW = CTS = Reach-around
and the Yankees are 100% CTW, so the Yankees are crank yankers.

QED.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

That was my thought exactly.
