He pitched out of the stretch most of the night on account of putting the leadoff hitter on in almost every inning ... but he got the outs he needed to get (some good defense helped too) and managed to stay unscathed until a soft 2-out single tied the game in the 6th.

Keith Hernandez doing color on NY TV was impressed with how he looked.

his problem has been consistency. he has pitched some really fine games this year, and he also has been splattered some.
