Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

Lucky on Beltre's part, but truly awful play by Guillen.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

Now I've got a question:

If Beltre missed 2nd base, and was clearly trying to elude Guillen's tags, then shouldn't have Beltre been called out for running out of the base path before the third run scored?

he did not run out of the base path. some evasive action is ok.
Often wrong, but never in doubt.

It was Froemming.  He's one of the best, IMO.

Very confusing play as seen from the CF Bleachers... Im glad Froemming was watching more closely than I was. Nobody in the stadium knew what was going on during the appeal though, great baseball town.

How he didn't at least touch the base as he slid past 2nd is beyond me.

It looks to me like he touched the base, in which case there's no reason to compliment Froemming.  I paused the video and it looked like he grazed it with his fingers.

I think Guillen caught a break; he had plenty of time to toss it over to Inge but kept trying to sell the umpire on the tag play he never made.
