Alright Mo, do some damage here.
Wow... Ensberg finally... maybe... possibly... figuring out that you can be selective until you've got 2 strikes.
it'll take more than two games for me to believe it
I was watching You've Got Mail instead of the pre-game show.and I don't care if he does whine, he's hitting .210 or so now.
Exactly. It's his own damn fault he lost playing time.BTW, send me the pics of 3,000!
still love you Brad.I did hear bill say that Berkman didn't really want to play because he doesn't do well against Glavine. I hope I misunderstood that. If I didn't Berkman needs to get slapped.
Lance said it was probably a good thing he didn't face Glavine.
doesn't facing the pitcher help you improve against that pitcher? I can't imagine Bagwell saying he would prefer not to face a pitcher. how does that help you get your swing back? How does that help your team?
Garner looked at the numbers of Lance facing Glavine, puked, and made him sit. FACT!
Maybe FACT! but I still don't like Lance's attitude about it.
Here's the deal, Lance's attitude is a put on. He has no say in the matter, he is being coy. Lance being Lance.
wheeler has only played for the mets and astros, right?
You aren't understanding my issue with Lance. I understand that Garner makes the decision who to play, but Lance can say that he would have liked the chance to hit Glavine instead of what he did.
Increasing his trade value, woohoo!
may be another long day for the Mets bullpen.i wish lucas would shut up.
Now, now, you know he gets paid to regurgitate this nonsense. It's too bad I have a eight second delay between the radio and the TV... When is JD back???
must be a boring day/game if the #1 topic is the relative merits of color men on the broadcast.
No way, I'm rooting for Burke. Go Chris!
Gunther waited on the hook and slammed it. Right at the leftfielder.
So here's your armchair GM question of the day: Suppose that Ensberg starts to hit the ball and finishes the season looking strong. Is it a tease, or a turnaround? Do you count on him as next year's 3B?
you are quick with the edit.
lucas needs to stop being such a beltran apologist.
I don't know, do you?
No, I have no idea. If that scenario comes to pass, I'm extremely glad that I'm not making the decision.
I do, trade bait! Package him with Burke. Perfect.
No shit. Why is it so hard to understand why a lot of Astros fans hate the guy?
Carlos Beltran just opened the fourth with a fly to right after being booed. He was only here as a rental. There was no loyalty, and the Astros weren’t going to beat the Mets with the wallet.Really hard to explain why they aren’t over it yet. Not like the treatment Roger Clemens and Wade Boggs got when they returned to Boston.
Bruntlett is playing a very nice ss today.
He is. He also plays a good 2B. If Burke is traded, I wouldn't mind seeing Bruntlett get a chance to win the 2B job. If not that, I'd at least like to see him stay with the team next year and get a decent amount of playing time as a utility man.
What makes you think Burke would be traded? I'd love Bruntlett to stay on the team. He's another Loretta.
I doubt he would be a regular. I hope Loretta is re-signed for the full-time 2B job.
on the assumption biggio retires.I need to purchase tickets for the last home game.
http://mets.lohudblogs.com/just found this on a steM blog. bout 2/3 of the way down the page, from july 6.
sweet pitch, Oswalt
He was much better today. Escaping the first unscathed was huge.
Yes, it was. And kudos to PENCE!!! for making a decent throw and keeping Reyes at third in that inning.
get a hit bradley
He hasn't looked too good at the plate the last few games.
Gunther throwing out LoDuca last night put doubt in Reyes mind. I was surprised he didn't try to score, though.
that's a nice way of saying it
I don't want you to "unlove" me.
Please FSN... I'd rather watch John Ratigan 24-7 than listen to Lucas any more.
hey mark, would you rather listen to rick renner than lucas?
Radio and TV guys both have commented on how the attendance has been good this homestand. DUH. Everyone bought the Biggio Ticket Plans.
Yeah!!!Astros win.
Nice going into the break, a split with the Mets. Almost a 3 out of 4.
a lot of people still went to the games after last Thursday.
The one I can't stand the most is Van Earl Wright. His voice is so irritating. I lived in the same apartment complex as he did when I was in college. My roommate and I often went swimming late at night until we kept catching him skinnydipping with his various girls in the pool. Yuck.
maybe things are starting to turn around.
I know, probably because they had already PAID for the tickets. I'm guessing alot of them were families. If Biggio did not have that milestone march, I wonder how many would have bought tickets in the first place.
I almost bought that Biggio package. I still ended up going to 7 games in 9 days. I'm ready for the break. But, there were still a lot of people at the games. I think the fact that they've won a couple of the series helped them come regardless of Biggio hitting the milestone.
hate Boras, not Beltran. by all accounts, Beltran is a good guy.
i disagree. People hire their agents and are responsible for how business is conducted on their behalf. And taking a shot at Houston on the way out of town with this bullshit about how they didn't love him enough was gratuitous.
