Seriously. My seats for tonight's game are close enough for him to do so. Just before he goes and gets hit number three thousand and something.
Shitbag.
I think this should be the thread where we make embarrassing, maudlin statements about our love for Biggio and our favorite Biggio moments.
After watching all the hype roll by last night (and even buying a Chronicle this morning) I realized that I didn't have a favorite Biggio moment. I remember when he got called up, I remember watching him in excitement in his first All-Star Game (committing the only catcher's interference in All-Star History). I remember the ringing doubles down the left-field line, taking and giving hard slides at second, the dirty uniform. Somewhere along the way, Craig Biggio and the Houston Astros became so intertwined that it's hard for me to separate the two.
And last night, how about last night? The hits Biggio got tonight were pure Biggio. He hustled and scraped out those infield singles, and his hustle ended up being the key factor in winning the game. He played fearlessly and challenged the defense to make plays. Say what you want about him getting thrown out, if he hadn't taken risks like that he wouldn't have more doubles than any right-handed hitter in history. Congratulations Bidge. We'll see you in Cooperstown.
