Jamie Fucking Wright. This is embarrassing. And why does Kenny Lofton own Roy?

I don't know. It's an ongoing theme, and it's getting old. It would be convenient to blame his defense, but his defense didn't have anything to do with those three runs. Pence's throw was a joke, but Gary Maddox wouldn't have thrown that guy out, so it didn't matter.

If Ensberg stopped that ball it would have saved one run.

I suppose. Ensberg definitely should have had that.

Apparently not. It's not exactly in his job description, but still...

And then fucking Lofton gives us the snow cone.

The catcher made a good play.

Those 1-0 leads are always so easy to protect in Arlington.

The catcher made a good play.

Mo bunted that ball approximately 6 inches out in front of the plate. Laird made a good throw, but if he'd had to move more than two feet to get to the ball, he wouldn't have gotten the out.

The bunt could have been farther ideally, but Laird is really quick. Very few catchers will make that play, especially the force out.

Outscored 32-6 in the last three games against the Rangers, who just happen to have THE WORST RECORD IN THE AL.

Fuckin' pathetic.

This is one weak team. Off to the CWS.

I am constantly defending them, hoping they will catch fire, but even the optimist in me is not exactly seeing anything worth hoping for. Except for a few players, I'm beginning to dislike their style of play. I'll damn sure still root for them, but it's just not the same.

I have a sneaky feeling this is the end of an era. It was a damn good one while it lasted.

two outs
no one on
9 hole hitter up

single, single, double, single.

then

walk, walk, walk

the ballpark had nothing to do with it.

he has not been good this year.

Fine, but scoring 2 runs against the Rangers and expecting it to hold up isn't a good idea.

But I agree re: Oswalt. He had nothing today and has no confidence in his curveball. Whenever he gets in trouble now he just throws hard in. It's getting really really predictable.

BS. if the hitters get him two runs, his job is to give up 1 or less. he has not been able to hold leads game after game.

And Roy chooses to take another shot at the offense. Not that it wasn't deserved...

"The biggest inning was the first inning," Oswalt said. "The guy walks two straight out of the chute, that's when you've got to put pressure on him. He got out of the inning and started falling into better sync after that. We didn't put a lot of pressure on him like we should have."

From pravata's NYCU. Of course, he goes on the critique his own performance, but why does he spout off so much this year?

Bullshit. If you're going to complain every time the pitcher gives up 2 runs then you might as well not watch. You don't like Oswalt because he complains too much, we get it.

if Miller had done that, you'd be screaming.

i like Roy fine, but he should shut up about the offense and pitch better. he gives up leads more often than not.

what else, stubby? gonna start stalking again, are you?

Well you've got the facts wrong here too Jim.

There was 1 out and 1 runner on when the 9 hitter came up. He got the 9 hitter out.

Don't start this strawman bullshit. I haven't been bitching about Miller.

Any pitcher is going to give up 1-0 leads more often than not. Roy held the 1-0 lead all game against the Giants. The pen came in and Lamb threw a DP ball into RF. He held the 2-0 lead opening day all game until Nady homered off of Lidge in the 9th. He's held plenty of leads, but you can choose to ignore it. Apparently pitching a shutout through 7 while protecting a 1-0 lead is only par for the course.

You responded to me so please don't start this stalking bullshit.
