Did I ever mention that after a similarly officiated Rockets game I managed to catch the ear of Jack Nies and, it being tax season and all, politely encouraged him to file a prompt and honest tax return? How the fuck was I supposed to know that he'd had recent trouble with the revenuers?

i've always contended that if they force managers, coaches and players from the various sports to be available to the press, through post game locker room access and press conferences where they can be fined for not attending, then the same should be held for the officials of those sports.  (ie, the check swing strike three during the angels/white sox series, those many moons ago)

if angel hernandez feels like he was justified let him explain his justifications to everyone.  this does not affect the supposed objectivity of the officiating crew, just makes the process more transparent and accountable.
