Watching him swing last night, he has a bit of a hitch trying to swing the bat right now.  It can be corrected and he'll be able to hit .240ish for the season if he just keeps his approach right and keeps swinging for the middle of the diamond.  He did all that last night, but had no knocks to show for it.  He's just going to have to work his way out of the bad stretch right now.

Wonder if his back is a factor in his hitting slump?  Haven't read anything about it since the one blurb a couple of weeks ago that it was bothering him again.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

His swing is off enough to make one wonder if he's compensating a little.  Cortizone shots last a while, but you don't want to get into the habit of taking too many shots either.  He's swinging a little bit behind his legs, sort of a hacket chop swing, like he's trying to chop some wood.  This is on fastballs too, so something is off.  Might just be mechanics that he just needs to adjust a little.

I cringed the other night when he laid out for that ground ball up the middle and did a full belly-whomp on the grass. He kind of landed knees first, then landed on his belly, and then rolled up onto his chin. That can't be fun if you've got a sore back.
