Wow, Wilson leading off seems like an extraordinarily dumbass idea.  What am I missing?

Had you read your series preview, you'd know that Wilson is 6-17 against Woody.

Besides that, who in that lineup should lead off instead?

Right off-hand, I'd go with Taguchi.

Taguchi doesn't walk much (neither does PW), and really isn't anything but mildly annoying to most teams other than the Astros.

Personally, I think Wilson is leading off more to keep him from whiffing with runners in scoring position than anything else.

Well, there is that advantage.  Also keeps Token from piling up the GIDPs.  Just a quick scan of the other potential leadoff guys showed that Taguchi was the only one with both a good batting average and OBP (.368), while Eckstein and Kennedy look to be struggling pretty mightily, so that's why I chose him.  Also, I saw a blurb that Token's knee had been bothering him recently.

That's a damn pessimistic 8 ball... I asked it more questions and the answers were worse.

Does anyone else use MLB TV or Gameday Audio? If so, is it working for you? I can't get any of the feeds to work, video or audio.

I just checked MLBTV and it worked for me.  I used the link on the Astros.com homepage.

Nice play by Woody!  Sliding to field the bunt on the third base side and made the off balance throw from his knees to get the gnat Eckstein.

in other action, george steinbrenner is calling the DQ as we speak as the yankees are getting drilled 14-8 in the 5TH INNING!

I also liked lee's approach on that lineout to right.

That was a strange play. Eck hit a bouncer that Mo cuts off on a nice scoop and throws to second, but the throw was wide of Biggio on the bag into right field, Luke scoops it up and fires a one-hop laser to third to nab the slogging Molina at third with AE covering. E-5 and another OF assist from Luke.

That could be pretty entertaining, but I'd substitute Raul Chavez for Huff.  Every time Chavez went to bunt I always wondered how the opposing fielders didn't bust out laughing.

I don't see the reward of the steal there outweighing the risk.  It was a dumb move.

Get Pence to 3rd so AE can sac fly him in?  Doubtful the way AE's swinging right now.
Safety or suicide squeeze?

Either way it seems like they're pressing awful hard.

True that on Chamo. I never could get over how incredibly, mindnumbingly slow Huff was, though. Hence his inclusion on my list.

That may be the first time in recorded history since The Shot Heard Round the World, that Lidge has faced Pooholes without the Cards' broadcast replaying THE highlight.  :o

You mean THE highlight that conveniently allows them to gloss over the fact that Roy O bitch-slapped them in Game 6 and closed old Busch with an Astros' NLCS victory?

That would be the one.  The Astros have taken the high road and do not play the AB where Roy O made Pooholes look like a little leaguer every time they face each other.  I wish they would.

Dear Houston Astros,

Old St. Bidge must have been looking for his nemisis, the low and away slider. that was a room service fastball right down the middle.

and Matty blew a 4-2 lead in the 6th.
Often wrong, but never in doubt.

I dunno about right down the middle, but it was definitely hittable.
