Nice article from his hometown paper:

Quote:

The Astros continue to like Fairchild's arm. He throws a fastball in the low 90s, a curve for an out pitch and last season developed a sinker that hastened his trip up the minor league ladder.

"They say my stuff works real good," Fairchild said. "It's just a matter of more innings."

Fairchild said he's a year ahead of schedule, but admits, "I don't have the big league command (yet)."
...
He'll be on the team's Double-A roster this spring but could drop down temporarily once the big league cuts are made.

"If I'm pitching well, they might keep me there," he said.

Fairchild said he figures to get to the Astros Double-A affiliate in Corpus Cristi, Texas, sooner or later.

"Wherever they put me, I don't want to be there long," he said.

You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

Those spring training rosters often don't mean much.  The Astros have been known to make assignment decisions all the way up to and including the very last day of spring training.  My pre-ST guess is that he starts 07 in Salem.
Goin' for a bus ride.

Not yet.  He is not on Salem or Lexington so that means it is likely CC
Always ready to go to a game.
