Roy Hobbs... err... Luke Scott...err... Luke Hobbs... err... ah heck, just call him
Hobbs for short... had a day at the plate today that may of just clinched a spot for himself on the 25 man roster.

It may be down to whether he'll be a starter or a bench player at this point, but Hobbs has made himself the proverbial winner of the Glen Close "I will not be ignored" Award. Hobbs hit a three run bomb off Phillies starter Cory Lidle, joining I'm sure a cast of thousands who can say "been there, done that". He then returned in the seventh to unlock a 7-7 tie with a run scoring single off ex-Astros closer Billy the Kid Wagner. It was all downhill from there for Waggs and the Phightin' Phils, as the Astros doused them with a final score of 14-8.

On the pitching side of things,
Zeke E-L Astacio tossed four scoreless frames and struck out five to increase his own chances to make the 25 man.
Mike Coolbaugh also contributed to the cause late by driving in four insurance runs with two hits, both doubles. Mad Mike isn't going to win a spot on the 25 with this, but he did make a case for being a player in reserve down in AAA Round Rock if Scraps needs a good bat off the bench sometime during the season. Now go down there and learn a little bit about donning the tools of ignorance Mike and maybe you'll be up in no time.
Brandon Duckworth takes the hill on Thursday against Willis and the Fish to see if he can jump onto this wagon of 25 men heading north... or not. Might not hurt his chances that
Dave Burba was blistered today for 7 runs by the Phillies in three innings of work. Ouch.
