"Signed in December to a $2 million, one-year contract"

Wow!  So the Yankees, last winter, gave a one year, $2 million contract to a guy who had recently had a ligament replaced in his elbow.  Just amazing the money that ballclub throws around.  I mean, this is not giving John Lieber a 2-year deal on the assumption that he'll be a solid starter the second year, a deal which a lot of people thought was pretty crazy at the time.  This is a one year deal for a guy with a brand new elbow, hoping for the possibility that he might come back and pitch well in mid-August!?!?  Simply amazing.

Rough outing for Ducky last night.  Granted, the score was already 7-2 in the 6th inning when he came in, but still, he didn't make it out of the inning, facing 5 guys and giving up 3 hits, 3 runs, and a stolen base.
